Where The Money Actually Goes

“90% cheaper” isn’t a slogan. It’s arithmetic.

A single stamp costs 82¢ before a drop of ink hits the card. Mail 25,000 of them and postage alone eats most of the budget. The only question is how many businesses are splitting that bill. Here is every line item, both ways.

Mailing it yourself
A solo 6x9 postcard run
One stamp 82¢
That is just to move one piece of mail. You have not printed anything yet.
Bulk postage — deepest presort USPS gives 46.7¢
Printing, full color both sides 24–32¢
Mailing list rental & address scrub 3–5¢
Lettershop — sort, tray, drop 6–10¢
Design, spread across the run 4–8¢
Your cost per home ~96¢
Typical range 84¢–$1.02
Across 25,000 homes $24,000+

Same 25,000 mailboxes. Same month.
You keep the difference.
Same reach, same month, roughly a tenth of the outlay — and you never touch a pallet.
“What about EDDM? That’s cheaper than 96¢.”

It is — 30 to 55¢ a piece, and if you have the time it’s a real option. What you give up is the list. EDDM mails an entire carrier route, so you pay to land in apartments, rentals and vacation units right alongside the owner-occupied homes you actually want. You also do the routing, the bundling and the post office drop yourself. And at 30¢ a piece, EDDM to 25,000 homes still runs $7,500 — several times what a slot in the deck costs — for a worse list and a Saturday of your own labor.

The 82¢ figure is the USPS First-Class Forever stamp rate effective July 12, 2026. Solo-run figures are 2026 industry rates for a 6x9 postcard at 25,000 pieces using USPS Marketing Mail presort postage — the deepest bulk discount available. Your printer's quote will land somewhere in the range shown. Slot pricing moves with your category and how many drops you commit to, so we quote it directly — ask and we'll send your number the same day.

Why advertisers get in and stay in with the pack.

Real Gallatin Valley businesses. Real cards in the deck. Their words, not ours.

I got $70,000 in sales from one mailing.

I was very pleased with the June mailer. I'm holding off on the next one because we're swamped — we can't keep up with what we got from the last mailing.

Best in Business totally changed my start-up automotive repair business. The card is extremely affordable, especially when it comes to advertising. I received numerous new customers who opened the pack, came to my business, showed me the card they received, and now I have a larger clientele base of great customers. I can't thank Best in Business enough!

We are always looking for advertising platforms that separate us from competitors and help us stand out. We love how the card deck concept compels customers to flip through the deck.

Why they come back
One job pays for the drop. Everything after that is new revenue.

We keep pricing on the call because every category runs different math. In high-ticket categories, a single closed job covers your spot many times over.

From the Founder

I paid to be in a pack like this before I ever sold it to anyone else.

Before Best in Business, I was on your side of the table. I had a contracting business, I needed the phone to ring, so I bought a spot in a shared-mail deck. Some drops worked and some didn't. Either way, I learned a lot about what helps a deck pay off for the businesses in it.

Later I sold ad space in one, and I sat down with a lot of owners asking the same questions I used to ask myself. I get it — every marketing dollar has to earn its keep.

Best in Business is the deck I wish I'd had back then. Just two businesses per category, so you're never lost in the crowd. Owner-occupied homes only. A heavyweight card that feels worth reading. And when you call, you'll get me.

Why Mail · Why Shared · Why Us

The digital inbox is saturated. The mailbox isn't.

Email open rates are falling. Paid social keeps getting more expensive. The one channel that puts your offer physically in a homeowner's hand — and isn't gated by an algorithm — is the one most local businesses gave up on too soon. That's part of why it works.

01

Why mail wins.

Your card lands in a real mailbox, gets touched, sorted, and read at the kitchen counter. No spam folder, no muted autoplay, no algorithm deciding whether your ideal customer ever sees the ad. Just your offer, in front of a real person, slowed down.

02

Why shared mail wins.

Splitting the print run and postage with complementary local advertisers means the reach of a solo mailing at a fraction of the cost. The pack arrives wrapped as one premium piece — homeowners flip through the whole thing.

03

Why our shared mail wins.

Two advertisers per category. Verified owner-occupied homes only. A founder running the operation, not a corporate calendar. The deck doesn't get padded with 50 cards from anyone who wrote a check — and your category isn't shared with three other shops in your space.

How the Options Compare

The Flagship — and Three More Formats

MegaMailer is the engine. Three other formats when the campaign calls for it.

The shared-mail deck is the product 95% of our advertisers pick — premium reach, a quarter of the cost of going solo, category protection baked in. The other three formats below exist for the campaigns where solo, hyperlocal, or first-90-days targeting is the right tool.

Also Available

New Homeowner Mailer

First-90-Days Targeting

Catch buyers in the 30–90 days after closing — when they're spending on the contractor, the dentist, the painter, the lawn guy, the gym, and everything else they need in town.

  • Monthly refresh from recorded closings
  • Filter by price range, zip, or neighborhood
  • Evergreen ROI — every month, a new wave
Also Available

Radius Mailing

Every Door Within Range

Saturate every address inside a defined drive-time radius of your business. Built for restaurants, dental practices, med spas, and retail — anywhere your customer base is geographic, not income-defined.

  • Choose by radius, ZIP, or carrier route
  • USPS EDDM or targeted-list options
  • Fast turnaround for seasonal campaigns
Also Available

Solo Postcard Campaigns

Your Card, Alone in the Mailbox

Your offer alone — no shared deck, no neighbors. Full real estate for high-ticket offers and brand moments where the shared-deck format isn't the right tool. Costs more per piece; sometimes worth it.

  • 4×6, 6×9, or jumbo 6×11 formats
  • Full creative control, front and back

The Floor, Not the Ceiling

You don't have to be lucky. The math just has to work once.

Forget the upside projections for a minute. The question that actually matters before you commit isn't "how much could I make?" — it's "how badly would this have to flop to lose money?" In a high-ticket category, the answer is uncomfortable for direct mail's competitors.

One job in a $15K–$50K-ticket category pays the drop back many times over.
Roofing. HVAC. Kitchen & bath. Solar. Restoration. The categories where a single closed job covers the entire campaign — and the next one is pure profit.

If you can't close one new customer out of 25,000 affluent in-market homeowners seeing your offer, the problem isn't direct mail.

It's the offer.

And when that's where we land — we redesign the next drop's card with you. On the house. Until the offer pays back.

And remember — that's one drop. Join the pack and the math runs every drop you're in, with brand recognition compounding each time. Lower-ticket categories (restaurants, retail, beauty) close more customers per drop and run their own math — same logic, different numbers.

Join the pack that pays back.

A single-drop reservation holds your spot for one mailing. Joining the pack holds the category — for you, against everyone else — every drop you're in, with first right of refusal on 2027.

Reusable artwork. Compounding brand recognition every drop. A discounted per-piece rate that makes the math obvious. And one less thing to re-sell to your competitor.

What annual advertisers get
  • 1
    Your category, held
No one in your space can buy in around you while you're in the pack.
  • 2
    Discounted per-piece rate
The annual commitment buys you a lower rate per drop than single-drop pricing.
  • 3
    Design once, ship every drop
Your card design carries across every drop — refresh the offer when you want, leave it alone when it's working.
  • 4
    Compounding recognition
Households see your card every drop. Brand recall stacks. Later drops convert harder than the first.
  • 5
First right of refusal for 2027
Annual advertisers get first option to renew next year's slot before it goes back to market.

Commonly Asked Questions

Why be in the founding cohort?

Fair question. Two answers. One: the founding-cohort advertisers get the rare deal in advertising — category protection that locks before the deck proves itself in this market. When BIB hits stride and a category fills up, you're already in it. No bidding war, no waiting list. Two: I'm not new to shared-mail decks. I sold space in one for years and ran ads in one as a contractor before that. Bozeman is the new ZIP code — the product is proven. Want to hear how it ran in other comparable markets? Text me and I'll walk through it.

What if my competitor reserves my category first?

First-come, first-served — max two slots per specific category per drop. Once a slot is locked, your competitor can't share it. Joining the pack closes the category to them for the rest of 2026 and gives you first right of refusal on 2027, so they can't slip in next season either.

What if my drop underperforms?

Then we figure it out together — on a phone call, not in a ticket queue. We look at your offer, your tracking data, your audience pull, and we adjust for the next drop. That's the advantage of working with a founder operator: the post-mortem happens with the person who can actually fix what went wrong.

Do you design the card, or do I send my own?

Either works, and design is included at no extra cost. Send print-ready artwork that meets our spec sheet, or hand over your offer and we'll concept, design, and proof the card with you in-house before it goes to press.

Is this a long-term contract?

Single-drop reservations are no-commitment — one drop at a time. Joining the pack is the upgrade: your category held, a discounted per-piece rate, one design that carries across every drop, and first right of refusal for 2027. Every advertiser in our testimonials renewed for September. The math gets obvious fast.
